From the New York based Tin Pan Alley composer Ray Henderson, this tune was written for the Black Bottom dance which became all the rage in the mid 1920s. Also from Henderson's portfolio are the well-known songs Bye Bye Blackbird and Five Foot Two (Eyes of Blue).
