A classic from the Bacharach/David stable. The song was introduced to the Carpenters by Herb Alpert and featured on their album of the same name. Within six weeks of its release the song became a number one hit. Interestingly, Karen Carpenter did not drum on this track. Instead, preferring a heavier touch, Hal Blaine was brought in for the session.
