Dance number five from a set of 21 dances based mostly on Hungarian themes. This is perhaps the most famous of all the pieces in the suite and has been performed in numerous arrangements. Although originally written for orchestra, a particular favourite is the piano and solo violin version. Heifetz, Menuhin, Vengerov (to name but a few) have all had this in their repertoire.
