Awaiting Licence Renewal. We continue to apologise for the frustrating amount of time it is taking to seek licence renewals for many of our very popular pop, jazz and show pieces. We continue to negotiate with the copyright administrators and hope to have some news in the coming weeks. In the meanwhile, we thank you for your patience as we pursue an ethical copyright policy. Remember! if copyright is not acknowledged on the first page of a piece then it is either genuinely out of copyright or the correct permissions have not been sought.

The directory of string quartets page has been enhanced to allow searching for a string quartet by a specific area of the UK and Ireland, making it much easier for anyone looking for a string quartet for their wedding or function to find a quartet in their region. If you would like add your quartet to the directory then please follow the instructions shown on the directory page.

Copyright licence renewals - we apologise for the temporary unavailability of a number of pop, jazz and show titles while licences are being renewed. The music industry is constantly striving to find new ways of regulating the sale of copyright works, and we are currently working closely with key market players in their major restructuring of licensing.

dots 4 strings welcomes new arranger Adrian Smith. We are thrilled to have Adrian's arrangement of the second movement of Mahler's Symphony No. 1 added to the catalogue. Adrian is a first class professional viola player whose work takes him all over the world in small ensemble and orchestral roles. We look forward to publishing more of his arrangements in the future.
Directory of String Quartets published. We welcome entries from all string quartets worldwide. If you would like to be featured in the directory then simply send an email to with details of your quartet name, website address and a brief description of the quartet.

Faber Music grants dots 4 strings licences to publish a large number of new titles. After a long and patient wait while Faber completed its acquisition of International Music Publications (IMP), and licence pricing models were established, we are thrilled to be able to move ahead with adding many new titles to all sections of our catalogue. Our SibeliusMusic Store is launched with a selection of favourite classical and light pieces from the dots 4 strings catalogue. This gives us the opportunity to introduce ourselves to the many users of the SibeliusMusic website, particularly the large American community of musicians.

Welcome to dots 4 strings! We are delighted to launch our website, offering string quartet arrangements in a range of styles - classical, jazz, light, show and pop. Working closely with the major copyright administrators, e.g. Music Sales, Faber, Boosey & Hawkes, we are now able to offer new and exciting titles not previously published for string quartet, particularly modern pop songs.
Copyright infringement has long been the bugbear of music publishers, and with each new medium on which music could be distributed, these have offered their own opportunities for piracy and the associated challenges of preventing it. At dots 4 strings we have opted to use the excellent Sibelius Scorch technology. This allows you to view and play a preview of the music before purchasing it, and then to be able to print a licensed copy once a purchase has been made. No waiting for music to be sent in the post - sheet music delivered straight to your own PC. Indeed this is the same technology used very successfully by major sheet music suppliers such as Sheet Music Direct and Musicroom.
Our pieces are designed for use by quartets playing for weddings and functions. The wide range of music provides options for all occasions, and although not written as concert works, many pieces will be suitable for this environment too. Our initial list of titles is modest but we have many ready and waiting to be made available once copyright licences have been received. We will be adding titles on a regular basis and hope that we can help you build a large repertoire of interesting and fun-to-play pieces.
