In the following Terms and Conditions 'dots 4 strings', 'we', 'our' and 'us' means dots 4 strings limited, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 5319983. 'Customer(s)' and 'you(r)' means any visitor browsing or purchasing products from our website.

making a purchase 
Buying string quartet sheet music from dots 4 strings is easy - just view, buy, print.
View - browse around our catalogue, view and hear the score samples, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. All titles are sold as a set of string quartet parts written for 2 Violins, 1 Viola and 1 Violoncello. An optional score is available for each title for a small additional fee.
Buy - after you have finished your selection, click on 'checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order. We accept online credit & debit card payment (Visa / MasterCard / Maestro / Solo / JCB / American Express) and Paypal. If you are shopping from North America or anywhere else outside the UK, place your order and your card issuer will convert the transaction to US Dollars or your own currency.
After placing your order you will receive two or three emails - i) order confirmation showing the goods you have ordered from us, ii) account login information (only for new customers), iii) confirmation email from our card processing Payment Service Provider (Protx) or Paypal confirming your payment. At this stage, once payment has been authorised, there is now a contract between dots 4 strings and you the customer. This contract entitles you to print your sheet music the authorised number of times and to view it in full in the 'my music' section of the website. You are NOT permitted under any circumstances to copy, replicate, reproduce, redistribute, store electronically, alter, or edit the sheet music itself or the Scorch file.
Print - once you have received the order confirmation email you can go to the 'my music' section of the website, login with your customer details and print out your music. If you have any problems printing an item you have purchased there are detailed help pages to try and resolve the issue.

delivery schedule
All our sheet music is delivered to you electronically using the Sibelius Scorch browser plugin. Your order is ready for you to print immediately after payment has been authorised and the order receipt has been displayed on screen.
dots 4 strings DOES NOT send paper copies of any of our arrangements to you by post. All titles are delivered directly to your computer printer using the Sibelius Scorch software (you must have this installed and working to be able to view, hear and print your sheet music). If you do not have a printer connected to your computer you can still buy from us, and then use any compatible computer connected to the internet with a printer attached to print your music.
tax charges
dots 4 strings is not registered in the UK for VAT and hence does not charge any sales tax (e.g. VAT) on any products that we sell in the EU.
credit card security
dots 4 strings will NEVER see or store your confidential payment card details.
We use a third party Payment Service Provider called Protx to process all your credit & debit card payments. As you go through our checkout pages you will be redirected to the Protx site to enter your card details. The Protx site uses 128-bit SSL encryption for maximum security. If you choose Paypal instead you will be redirected to the Paypal payment pages. In both cases we cannot see any confidential information about your card details or account.
dots 4 strings is not responsible for any problems encountered by the customer when using either of these payment gateways from our website.

dots 4 strings does not disclose, sell or share buyers' personal information with any third parties. We comply with the UK Data Protection Act 1998 and are committed to keeping all your personal details as secure as possible.
Cookies are used on this shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart, to store your details if you select the 'Remember Me' option, and as part of the login process to the 'my music' section. You can turn off cookies within most browsers by going to 'Tools | (Internet) Options | Privacy' and selecting to block cookies. If you turn off cookies, you will be unable to place orders or benefit from the other features that use cookies.

Sorry, but we cannot accept returned goods due to the electronic delivery of our product. The score samples are there for you to preview titles before you buy, showing the first page and playing the first 30 seconds of each title. Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 [Statutory Instrument 2000 No. 2334] which can be found at http://www.opsi.gov.uk/si/si2000/20002334.htm, regulation 13, paragraph 1(c) states that we are not obliged to accept returns because by their very nature the goods cannot be sent back.
For printing problems that cannot be solved by viewing the help pages we have a 'report printing error' system that enables you to log the fault with us. dots 4 strings will then investigate, and at our discretion will offer you the chance to print again, or in exceptional circumstances we will offer you a full refund for that item.
other terms & conditions
1. Prices on our website are in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and are subject to change without notice. US Dollar prices are only an approximation to help the customer. Non-UK customers will have the total GBP amount converted to their local currency at the exchange rate offered by their card issuer during payment.
2. dots 4 strings is not liable for any problems that arise with your computer, printer or other hardware or software as a result of using our website or installing the Sibelius Scorch software. You are required to print at least one sample piece (1 page preview) before buying to make sure that your configuration is compatible with the Scorch software. Not all operating systems and browsers are supported - see the help pages for more details.
3. All our modern arrangements have full copyright clearance from the relevant administrators for sale in various territories. We will not knowingly allow any piece to be sold outside of its agreed territories. Every effort is made to only sell arrangements to the customer that are legally licensed for sale in their country. Any deliberate or negligent copyright infringements by the customer are not the responsibility of dots 4 strings.
4. Any public performance of sheet music bought from dots 4 strings must be notified to the relevant performing right organisation for that country, e.g. Performing Right Society (http://www.prs.co.uk) in the UK; American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (http://www.ascap.com), Broadcast Music Inc (http://www.bmi.com) or SESAC (http://www.sesac.com) in the US. It is the customer's responsibility to check whether the owner of the venue that you are playing at using our sheet music has obtained a relevant license. Most weddings and family gatherings are excluded from this requirement as they are deemed to be private functions.
5. Any commercial recording and subsequent distribution (on any media) of sheet music bought from dots 4 strings must be notified to the relevant copyright protection organisation for that country, e.g. Mechanical Copyright Protection Society (http://www.mcps.co.uk) in the UK; Harry Fox Agency (http://www.harryfox.com) in the US.
6. dots 4 strings has the right to alter, amend or withdraw any of the arrangements in our catalogue at any time and without notice. We regret that we are unable to refund or replace any titles affected by these changes that have been purchased previously.
